Reports and Dashboards

Salesforce dashboards are shared operational tools. Use the dashboard for a summary and the underlying reports when you need the exact record list behind a metric.

If you are building or editing a report, start with Report Writing Guide. Use Object Field Guides when you need to understand which fields matter on the major Salesforce objects. If the report is based on Sales Orders, use Sales Order Field Guide before choosing columns, filters, or grouped totals. For fields that look like system totals, counts, latest dates, or lifetime values, read DLRS and Rollup Fields.
