Sales Orders and Invoices
Sales Order workspace, line editing, invoices, PDFs, emails, and controlled deletion
Sales Orders
Open Sales Orders from the Sales app. The Sales Order record page includes summary, line editing, payments, shipping, fulfillment sync controls, PDF preview, order email actions, tracking, and related operational records.
Use custom actions for operational work:
| Action | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Print Sales Order PDF | Generate customer/order PDF output. |
| Send Invoice Email | Send invoice communication from the order. |
| Send Payment Link Email | Send a payment collection link. |
| Send Tracking Email | Send tracking communication. |
| Add Tracking | Add or update shipment tracking manually when appropriate. |
| Manage Fulfillment Sync | Review or control fulfillment sync behavior. |
| Create Payment Order | Create a payment order for collection. |
| Transfer Ownership | Move order ownership through the audited transfer flow. |
| Delete Sales Order | Use the controlled deletion flow, not raw delete. |
Line Editing
Use the custom line item editor on the Sales Order page. It includes locking and save controls so users do not accidentally bypass order mutability rules.
Lines can include physical goods, shipping, tax, credits, service, labor, adjustments, and other accounting lines. Physical fulfillment lines are treated differently from nonphysical financial lines in 3PL sync and reporting.
For the step-by-step line workflow, see Adding Items to Quotes and Sales Orders. For the full Sales Order operating model, see How Sales Orders Work.
Invoices
Invoices are available from the Sales app and Payment Operations app. Use Print Invoice PDF and Send Invoice Email from Invoice records. Invoice and AR reports depend on invoice status, outstanding balances, collection rate, overdue buckets, and customer-level receivable rollups.
Controlled Deletion
Use Delete Sales Order when an order must be removed or canceled through the app. The system keeps Sales Order delete audit records for operational traceability.
Do not delete orders directly from raw object controls unless an admin explicitly directs it after checking downstream payment, invoice, fulfillment, audit, and reporting impact.
